Sutter Maternity and Surgery Center in Santa Cruz is part of the Sutter Health network, providing care to over 3 million Californians. Geo. H. Wilson was part of the original construction team when the facility was initially built, and as a result became very familiar with the facility, the project team, and the Facilities Group for this site. The Special Procedures Suite was the first major expansion. From the project’s inception we were contract partners as we assisted the design team from Capital Engineering Consultants to develop the contract documents in advance of submittal to OSHPD.
Project Requirements
(2) new operating rooms, (1) procedure room and (16) patient rooms were added to the present facility. Water, waste, medical gas and HVAC systems were integrated into the existing infrastructure. Design work started in 2013 and construction was completed by the end of 2015.
What Geo. H. Wilson Delivered
Our Detailing Department worked in conjunction with Capital Engineering to develop HVAC drawings and identify points of connections for utilities. The construction was completed while the facility was fully-operational. Close coordination with the Bogard Construction team provided a successful platform for delivery.
